Question 1

What aircon services does VD Aircon provide?

Accepted Answer

VD Aircon (operated by Vedha Construction Pte Ltd) offers a full range of air conditioning services across Singapore — for both residential and commercial properties. This includes routine aircon servicing, chemical wash and chemical overhaul, new aircon installation (System 1 to System 4), recon system installation, aircon repair, compressor repair, fancoil repair, and quarterly or annual maintenance contracts. For businesses, we handle commercial aircon servicing for offices, F&B outlets, retail shops, warehouses, server rooms, and data centres. We also provide 24/7 emergency and same-day aircon repair for urgent breakdowns.

Question 2

Which aircon brands does VD Aircon service and repair?

Accepted Answer

We work with all major aircon brands available in Singapore — no exceptions. This includes Japanese brands such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Fujitsu, Hitachi, Toshiba, and Sanyo; Korean and global brands including Samsung, LG, Midea, Gree, Sharp, and Haier; and international commercial brands like Carrier, York, and Europace. Whether your unit is a budget split system or a premium inverter model, our technicians are trained to service, repair, and maintain it correctly.

Question 3

Does VD Aircon offer 24/7 emergency aircon repair in Singapore?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide 24-hour emergency and same-day aircon repair services islandwide across Singapore, including weekends and public holidays. If your aircon breaks down at night, leaks suddenly, or stops cooling during a heatwave, you can reach us at 96540044 or 96440652 for immediate assistance. Our standard office hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, but our emergency line remains available around the clock so you are never left without support when you need it most.

Question 4

How often should I service my aircon in Singapore?

Accepted Answer

For most households in Singapore, a basic aircon service every 3 months is the recommended frequency, given our tropical climate, high humidity, and year-round usage. If your unit runs for more than 8 hours a day — common in HDB homes and offices — monthly or bi-monthly checks may be more appropriate. A full chemical wash or chemical overhaul should be done every 6 to 12 months to clear deep-seated grime, mould, and biofilm that routine servicing cannot reach. Skipping maintenance shortens your unit's lifespan and quietly raises your electricity bills.

Question 5

What is the difference between regular aircon servicing and a chemical wash?

Accepted Answer

Regular aircon servicing covers the essentials: cleaning the air filters, checking the drainage, inspecting refrigerant levels, and wiping down accessible coil surfaces. It keeps your unit running smoothly between deep cleans. A chemical wash goes further — our technicians use specialist detergents to flush and disinfect the evaporator coil, drain tray, fan blades, and internal components. This removes mould, bacteria, and mineral deposits that basic servicing misses. If your aircon smells musty, blows weakly, or has not had a thorough clean in over a year, a chemical wash is usually the right call. We assess your unit honestly and recommend only what it actually needs.

Question 6

What is a chemical overhaul, and when do I need one?

Accepted Answer

A chemical overhaul is the most thorough cleaning service we offer. Unlike a standard chemical wash where we clean components in place, a chemical overhaul involves fully dismantling the indoor unit — removing the fancoil, blower wheel, and drainage tray — and soaking or pressure-washing each part individually with chemical solutions. This is typically recommended when a unit has heavy mould buildup, persistent foul odours despite previous cleaning, severely restricted airflow, or has not been serviced in two or more years. It restores performance close to factory levels and is especially beneficial for older units or allergy-sensitive households.

Question 7

My aircon is not cold — what are the most common reasons and what should I do?

Accepted Answer

An aircon that blows warm or weakly cooled air is one of the most common complaints we handle in Singapore. The most frequent causes are clogged air filters restricting airflow, low refrigerant (gas) levels due to a leak, a dirty or iced-up evaporator coil, or a failing compressor. Before calling us, check that your thermostat is set correctly and that no vents are blocked by furniture or curtains. If the problem persists, do not attempt a DIY gas top-up — refrigerant should only be handled by a qualified technician, and topping up without fixing a leak is a temporary measure at best. Contact VD Aircon and we will diagnose the root cause properly.

Question 8

My aircon is leaking water — is it serious?

Accepted Answer

Aircon water leaks should never be ignored, but they are usually fixable without major expense when caught early. The most common cause is a blocked or clogged condensate drain line — accumulated algae, mould, or debris stops water from draining away, causing it to overflow into your room. Other causes include a misaligned or cracked drain tray, a frozen evaporator coil, or improper installation. Left untreated, leaks can damage ceilings, walls, and electrical fittings. If your unit is dripping indoors, switch it off and contact us — our technicians can usually clear the blockage and inspect for any underlying issues in a single visit.

Question 9

Do you service aircon units in HDB flats, condos, and landed properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we service all residential property types across Singapore. For HDB flats, we are familiar with the constraints of standard AC ledges, older piping runs, and the requirements for multi-room split systems. For condominiums, we handle balcony unit access, MCST compliance, and everything from single-room units to multi-system setups. For landed properties, we service multi-storey ducted systems, VRV/VRF systems, and complex multi-zone configurations. If you are moving into a new BTO or resale flat, we can also conduct a pre-move-in aircon assessment to flag any existing issues before you settle in.

Question 10

Can VD Aircon install a new aircon system in my home or office?

Accepted Answer

Yes, new aircon installation is one of our core services. We handle System 1 to System 4 split-unit installations for residential properties, as well as full commercial system setups including cassette units, ducted systems, and VRV/VRF configurations for offices and larger premises. Our team manages everything from pre-installation site assessment and brand recommendation to piping, trunking, and final testing. We also offer recon system installation — refurbished compressor and fancoil setups — as a cost-effective alternative for budget-conscious homeowners. All installations are carried out by trained technicians to ensure performance and safety.

Question 11

Does VD Aircon offer servicing contracts or maintenance plans for homes and businesses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer quarterly and annual maintenance contracts suitable for both residential and commercial clients. For homeowners, a maintenance plan ensures your units are checked and cleaned on a fixed schedule, reducing the chance of unexpected breakdowns. For businesses — offices, F&B outlets, retail shops, and commercial buildings — we offer customised contracts that cover multiple units, priority response times, and scheduled preventive maintenance visits. Maintenance contracts are particularly popular with landlords managing multiple properties and building managers responsible for MCST-compliant servicing. Contact us to discuss a plan that fits your property size and usage needs.

Question 12

Which areas in Singapore does VD Aircon cover?

Accepted Answer

We provide islandwide aircon servicing across all regions of Singapore — from the Central Area and Orchard to heartland HDB estates including Yishun, Woodlands, Tampines, Sengkang, Punggol, Jurong, Clementi, Bedok, and beyond. Whether you are in the north, south, east, or west, our technicians will come to you. There are no area surcharges — we believe fast, affordable service should be equally accessible to everyone across Singapore, regardless of location. For jobs requiring same-day or emergency attendance, we dispatch the nearest available technician to minimise your wait time.

Question 13

Why does my aircon smell bad, and how do you fix it?

Accepted Answer

A musty, sour, or mouldy smell from your aircon is almost always caused by mould and bacteria growing on the damp evaporator coil, fan blades, or drain tray. Singapore's high humidity creates ideal conditions for microbial growth inside aircon units — especially those that are not serviced regularly. In some cases, a burning smell may indicate an electrical issue, which should be treated as urgent. For odour problems caused by mould, we recommend a chemical wash or chemical overhaul depending on the severity. Our technicians use anti-bacterial treatments to sanitise the unit and eliminate the source of the smell — not just mask it.
