24 Hour Aircon Repair in Singapore (Night, Weekend, Holiday Callout)

The aircon dies at 1 am. The room is 33 degrees and rising. The baby starts crying. The smoke alarm above the unit beeped once and now smells faintly of burnt plastic. Nobody is open until Monday.
VD Aircon runs a small after-hours crew specifically for breakdowns that happen outside normal service hours. We answer the phone all night and dispatch a technician within 60 to 120 minutes for genuine repair emergencies anywhere on the mainland.
This page is only for after-hours repair. For same-day routine servicing booked during business hours, the urgent aircon servicing page is the right one. For same-day repair during weekdays, the emergency same-day repair page handles that.

What Counts as a 24-Hour Emergency

Some faults wait until morning. Others need attention before the sun comes up. Here is how we triage the call.

Call us immediately at any hour:

  • The indoor unit smells of burnt plastic, smoke, or has visible scorch marks near the PCB
  • Water is pouring from the indoor unit fast enough to flood the floor
  • The compressor outdoors made a loud bang and stopped, with breaker tripping
  • The aircon refuses to switch off and the room is freezing or the indoor unit is icing over
  • Refrigerant gas smell strong enough to make the room headache-inducing
  • Newborn, elderly parent, or sick family member in the home and the indoor temperature is above 30 degrees
  • Power tripped twice in a row from the aircon circuit and now will not reset

Wait till morning is fine:

  • General weak cooling that has been getting worse for weeks
  • Dirty filter or smelly air with no other symptoms
  • Single-room unit not working but other rooms are cool
  • Cosmetic issues like louvre stuck or remote not responding
  • Annual servicing or routine maintenance

If you are not sure, call. The operator triages over the phone and tells you straight whether it needs a 1 am visit or a 9 am visit. No pressure either way.

What We Fix After Hours

The after-hours crew carries a smaller set of tools than the full daytime crew. Some jobs get done on the spot. Others get stabilised at night and finished the next morning.

Fixed the same night:

  • Tripped breaker reset and electrical fault diagnosis
  • Capacitor replacement (we carry common Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Samsung, LG sizes)
  • Drain pipe unblocking to stop water leak
  • Thermistor and sensor replacement
  • Remote control replacement
  • Loose wiring at the contactor
  • Indoor PCB reset when stuck in fault mode
  • Fan motor unblocking from foreign object
  • Refrigerant emergency top-up to restore cooling for the night

Stabilised at night, full fix in the morning:

  • Compressor failure (we shut the unit down safely, you sleep with fans on, full repair starts 9 am)
  • Major refrigerant leaks needing pressure test and brazing
  • PCB replacement when the specific model board is not on the van
  • Indoor unit removal for full chemical overhaul
  • Fan motor replacement when bearings have seized

The reason we split the work is honesty. Brazing copper joints at 2 am with a torch in a residential flat is unsafe. Compressor swaps need a 2-man crew with a recovery machine. We stabilise the situation, make sure you and the family are safe, and complete the heavy work in daylight.

After-Hours Pricing

Transparent, no surprises after the work. We tell you the rate over the phone before dispatching.

Standard call-out fee after hours:

  • Weekday evenings 7 pm to 11 pm: $60 callout (in addition to repair cost)
  • Weeknight 11 pm to 7 am: $100 callout
  • Weekend day (Sat 7 pm to Mon 7 am): $80 callout
  • Public holidays full day: $120 callout

Repair cost: Same as daytime rates. We do not mark up the actual repair.

Examples of total cost for common jobs:

  • Capacitor replacement at 2 am on a weekday: $80 part + $50 labour + $100 callout = $230 total
  • Drain pipe unblock at 9 pm on a Saturday: $40 work + $80 callout = $120 total
  • Gas top-up emergency at 1 am: $120 to $180 gas + $100 callout = $220 to $280 total

If we attend and the job is too complex to finish that night, we charge only the callout plus a $50 diagnosis fee. No labour billed for incomplete work. The next morning visit at standard rates.

What to Do Before We Arrive

Three things keep you and the family safe while you wait.

One. Switch the aircon off at the wall isolator or the breaker. Not just the remote. If there is any electrical fault, the unit must be fully de-energised. Open the DB cupboard and flip the dedicated aircon circuit breaker.

Two. Open all windows and switch on every ceiling fan and standing fan. Cross-ventilation drops indoor temperature by 3 to 5 degrees within 30 minutes. Move beds or sofas closer to the windows if needed.

Three. If there is a smell of refrigerant gas or burning plastic, evacuate the room. Close the door, ventilate the rest of the flat, and do not re-enter the affected room until the technician arrives. Refrigerant displaces oxygen at floor level. Children and pets are at higher risk because they are shorter.

For water leaks, place a towel or basin under the indoor unit and switch off the unit at the breaker. The leak stops within 10 to 20 minutes once the coil stops producing condensate.

How to Reach the Night Crew

The fastest route is the phone. WhatsApp goes to the after-hours dispatcher 24 hours a day. Email is monitored only during office hours and is not reliable for emergencies.

Call (24 hours): 9654 0044 or 9644 0652 WhatsApp (24 hours): 9654 0044 Email (office hours only): sales@vdairconservices.com

Tell us four things on the first call:

  1. Your full postal code
  2. What the symptom is (smell, smoke, no cooling, water leak, breaker tripping)
  3. Brand and rough age of the unit
  4. Whether anyone in the home is sick, elderly, very young, or pregnant

The fourth point matters because we prioritise households with medical vulnerability. If a baby under 6 months or a senior over 70 is in the home with no cooling and ambient temperature above 30 degrees, your call jumps the queue.

FAQ

Do you really answer the phone at 3 am?

Yes. The number 9654 0044 routes directly to the on-call technician between 11 pm and 7 am. We answer every call. If the line is busy, leave a voicemail and we call back within 5 minutes.

Is the night surcharge negotiable?

No. The callout fee covers the technician’s overtime pay, the standby allowance, and the van being on the road outside normal hours. We keep it as low as Singapore market rates allow.

Do you cover Sentosa, Jurong Island, or Pulau Ubin?

Sentosa yes, with 90-minute response. Jurong Island requires security clearance and we cannot serve it after hours. Pulau Ubin is not served at any hour.

Can the technician issue a tax invoice for insurance or HDB claims?

Yes. We provide a UEN-stamped invoice on the spot or by email the next working day. Vedha Construction Pte Ltd, UEN 201624486M.

What if my unit needs a part you do not have on the van?

We stabilise the fault, isolate the unit safely, and order the part the next morning. Same-day completion in most cases. Rare brand-specific PCBs and compressors take 2 to 5 working days.

Will you try to upsell a new aircon at midnight?

No. The night crew is paid a flat shift rate, not commission. They fix what is broken. If the unit is genuinely beyond economical repair, we tell you so and you decide in the morning, not at 2 am.
